Safety and respect for creators
Writing a character does not remove the responsibility to respect people and their work. These practical pointers accompany, rather than replace, the official documents.
Representations have limits
Faceclaims of minors, deceased people and people who explicitly refused this use are prohibited. Other documented prohibitions may be adopted on objective, verifiable grounds. Rumours or dislike are not sufficient.
Check applicable rules and known refusals before choosing a visual. Fame or the public availability of a photograph does not prove a right to reuse it.
Respect refusals and request removal
A person represented can ask for review of the removal of their image without an Altersive account. Contact lists the email already published in the official documents.
Identify the profile or content, explain the connection to the person represented and provide relevant public references if available. Do not publish identity documents or private information in a feed. Reasonable verification may be requested to assess a claim.
AI-generated visuals
Current rules prohibit AI-generated visuals, including artificial faceclaims and AI-assisted photographic edits. They cover avatars, banners, posts, stories and media shared in private messages or RP.
This policy aims to respect creators. A visual style alone does not prove AI use, and no infallible automated detector is promised. Reports need careful review.
Report without exposing more
Use a content or profile report in the app when the relevant tool is available. Use the public contact for access problems, external requests or image removal. Describe the problem clearly and keep private information to what is necessary.
A report requests review; it does not automatically impose a sanction. Available moderation tools may allow content removal or account measures depending on the situation. Continuous monitoring, immediate replies and guaranteed outcomes are not promised.
Protect your own boundaries
A block applies between the profiles concerned; it does not automatically block every profile on an account. It does not replace reporting. Do not use another character to pursue someone who asked you to stop.
Altersive is not an emergency service. In immediate danger, contact emergency services where you are, rather than waiting for a platform reply.
