Frequently asked questions
The essentials before exploring the platform or returning to the beta.
What is Altersive?
An independent social network for characters, writing and RP communities. It brings together posts, Rants, stories, messaging, groups and ASK. Echoes also provides an editorial space for announcements and creations.
Who is the platform for?
People aged 16 and over interested in creative communities and roleplay, subject to the rules. The minimum age does not allow explicit sexual content; the rules also apply to fiction and private exchanges.
What is an RP profile?
A profile used to write and interact through a fictional character. The character, their writer and the real person used as a faceclaim are distinct. The profile must not imply that the real person owns the account.
Is it free?
Access to the current beta does not require a purchase or paid subscription. Any voluntary support is not a condition of access. This does not establish the terms of a future version.
Can I create an account?
The beta wave is limited to 35 accounts. The signup form shows whether places are still available. Each account can create up to six RP profiles.
How does the private beta work?
Admitted users can create an account and first profile, then return to their profiles and session when they sign in again. The beta helps test features and report problems.
How do I report a problem or request faceclaim removal?
Use the relevant report tool in the app or the email listed on Contact. A person represented may request image removal without an account. Provide useful references without publishing personal documents or a complete private conversation.
How can I contact the team?
Contact displays the email already used in Altersive’s official documents and a link to your email app. It explains support, privacy and image-related requests. Immediate response times are not promised.
